Our dog Duke had a couple growths pop up - one on his belly, another on his ear. The one on his belly had been there for a while, but the one on his ear popped up fast. We took him to the vet and were devastated to find out they were mast cell tumors - cancer. They needed to be removed. The only way to make sure the one on his ear was completely removed was to completely remove the ear. We had no choice - the vet had to do what he had to do.
Well, I'm happy to report that even though Duke is partially earless, he is cancer free (for now). All of the tumors were removed and they were both Stage 1 and hadn't spread.
Thanks to all of you who prayed for our little guy!

Last week, I had the honor and pleasure to walk in the Attitudes & Attire 15th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Dallas Trade Mart. My friend Janet Fresquez served as the honorary chair and asked me to participate. I actually managed to make it to my fitting, sniffling and all with my cold, but it was SO worth it.
I worked the runway with some of Dallas' hottest personalities including Toni Duclottni, LeeAnne Locken, Dawn Mellon, Danielle Volmar, Allison Volk and Amy Vanderoef. More importantly, some of the wonderful women who work with Attitudes & Attires or who have benefitted from its services also modeled the clothing provided by Elements boutique here in Dallas. It was an amazing event.
Attitudes & Attire™ is a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency. The program provides the tools that raise self-esteem, promote ethics and build the confidence necessary to develop successful life skills. Clients of Attitudes & Attire are typically single mothers with little personal or financial support, are diverse in age, education and ethnicity and are often victims of abuse, generational poverty, addiction and physical disabilities. All of the women in the program are overcoming adversity and barriers to finding a job. For more information, visit www.attitudesandattire.org
Special thanks to Thomas Garza Photography for allowing me to share some of these wonderful photos!
