Halloween 2012

What a day!  I flew back from Los Angeles this morning and had to rush to teach class and then turn back around and get home for trick-or-treating.  Thank goodness for Ryan holding down the fort and getting the kids ready.

Our boxer and the little "princess kitty."

We had our annual Halloween block party, complete with the traditional "kids" and "chick" pics.

Will and Bryn came home with a TON of candy.  Bryn then decided to help me pass out a little more as the evening calmed down.  Thank God for the perfect Halloween weather we had today in Texas too!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

The Neufelds usually haul out to Flowermound for our annual pumpkin patch outing - the Flowermound pumpkin patches are an institution.  Two side-by-side competing farms luring families in from near and far with bounce houses, corn mazes, character cut outs and high-priced pumpkins.  We've learned over the years to avoid the pumpkin patches like the plague on the weekends - it's just too crowded.  We were making pumpkin patch plans last week when I heard from a friend that the Celina Pumpkin Patch was the place to be.  Feeling adventurous and ready for a change, we hopped in Ryan's F-150 and headed north.

The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm was amazing.  Parking was free but we had to pay $8 per person to get in.  It was SO worth it.  We all received cups of feed for the goats and longhorns - yes, we got to feed longhorns.

Then we set out on a long hayride that lasted about 15 minutes.  The beautiful grounds included a small lake and a little chapel.  Something about being out there convinced Ryan and I that we need to put "build a farmhouse getaway" to our bucket list, minus the animals though.  That's where we draw the line...

After that, the kids ran around the manageable corn maze.  Because it wasn't crowded, we didn't mind letting the kids run through while we waited at the entrance/exit.

Finally, we all got to pick out mini-pumpkins on our way out.  There were other pumpkins available to purchase, but everyone was happy with our mini-pumpkins.

I loved this pumpkin patch.  It wasn't crowded.  It was clean and welcoming.  Best part about it was the smiling and welcoming family that owns the farm who made the experience wonderfully personal.  The one downside was that there were no bounce houses - and Will was expecting a bounce house because he's so used to them at the other pumpkin patch.  The lack of bounce houses quickly became a non-factor.  The kids had a blast!

We'll definitely plan on heading back to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm next year.

Team Will - 2012 DFW Walk Now for Autism Speaks

All,

I cannot begin to thank you for your support for our team this year.  I set an initial fundraising goal of $1,000.00.  When we easily met that goal (thanks in part to Off the Field Players Wives Association and a huge donation from my Football Wives castmate Amanda Davis), we decided to go big and raise our goal to $5,000.00!  I am happy to report that thanks to you, we've exceeded that goal.  From longtime friends to new virtual friends, donations poured in.  I am so inspired by your generosity to keep going and giving back.  Thank you all for helping make this year's walk an incredible success!

Say cheese!

It's picture day at school - I can't believe Bryn actually let me put her in what I wanted her to wear! The little diva already has her own opinions about what's fashionable.

I would kill for her curls...

First comes love, then comes marriage...

... then comes baby in a baby carriage! I am excited to announce my involvement in two amazing upcoming events. The first is a bridal extravaganza. This is not your average crowded convention center bridal show. Oh no no! The Art of Bridal Style will take place on November 4th. I have a brag about a personal relationship I have with one of the incredible companies being featured at this event. You all know I love Watters Designs. Well, I was fortunate enough to attend a private screening of their yet to be released collection. I even got to try several of the gown on! (Thank goodness I can fit these hips in a sample size). If you're getting married soon, this is a must-attend event!

The following weekend, I've got a specia treat for you expecting moms! The Baby Bash & Bling Expo and Show is coming to Dallas! The iconic Magnolia Hotel will host the baby-themed event November 10th from 12-5 p.m. Get set for pampering, exploring the latest and greatest baby trends, and a can't-miss runway fashion show featuring the cutest maternity fashions. Ticket information is below.

Hope to see you soon!

Will's Cray Cray Birthday Party

Will's 8th birthday was a couple of weeks ago. We scheduled a fun birthday party for him at the house complete with a huge inflatable waterslide. All week, he talked about his waterslide party. So imagine our concern when rain was forecasted all weekend. Last Saturday, it rained all day. We woke up last Sunday morning, the day of the party, to cloudy skies and annoying drizzle. I had 5 emails and just as many telephone calls asking me if the party was still on. Are you kidding me?!?! You can't tell an 8-year-old with autism that he's having a waterslide birthday party and then cancel it because of weather. All hell would've broken loose! So sure enough, the rain stopped last week and the chaos began. Lots of Will's classmates came to the party, as well as the numerous children in our neighborhood. This party was OUT OF CONTROL. Thank goodness some awesome neighbors stepped in and helped with everything from making sno cones to passing out cake. Crazy thing is, the kids had a blast! Some have said it's the best party they've ever been to. That couldn't have anything to do with the fact that they were able to go unchecked and crazy for two hours... And Will really enjoyed having all of his friends at the house. As a couple left towards the end of the party, Will spontaneously said, "Come back anytime." It was very sweet. Made all the chaos worth it. Pretty sure that was the last big blow out party at Casa de Neufeld for a while!
Will's baby car cake from his first birthday party on the 23rd...
And the ever important party favor candy bar...
